How to Order & Flow of the Day

After completing baggage claim and customs inspection at the airport, please proceed to the arrival gate.The driver will be waiting for you at the designated meeting location, holding a name board.

3, Load luggage and head to the hotel

About HigashiOmi City

HigashiOmi（東近江市） is a place steeped in history, known for its ancient connections to figures like Prince Takechi and Emperor Tenmu, whose exchange of poems is celebrated in the “Aioi no Uta.” This historic land is home to numerous ancient temples and shrines, including Gamo Shrine, Eigensan Temple, Baekje Temple, and Stone Pagoda Temple. From medieval times onwards, it thrived as a hub for trade and commerce, boasting bustling market towns and temple towns. The region witnessed the flourishing of Omi merchants who, through their travels and interactions with various regions, fostered a rich and diverse culture. The modern era ushered in significant changes with the implementation of municipal government systems, culminating in the “Meiji Consolidation” in the early 20th century. Then, in 1953, the Large-Scale Municipal Merger Promotion Act led to substantial restructuring, resulting in the formation of one city, five towns, and one village. Finally, in 2005, the merger of multiple municipalities, centered around Yokaichi City, gave birth to the present-day Higashiomi City. This continued with the merger of Gamo Town and Nogata Town in 2006, completing the current city boundaries. Today, Higashiomi City is dedicated to preserving its rich natural beauty and cultural heritage, ensuring a vibrant legacy for future generations through thoughtful urban planning and development.
